During the many years that we've been involved in the breeding and training of Llewellin Setters, we have produced some magnificent hunting companions for our clients. We hope you will indulge us while we brag a bit! ~Deane and Virginia Harris
This article was posted on Gun Dog Forum and Pointing Dog Journal. This pup is one of Wingswept Llewellin's exceptional babies and what a delight to see "Jackson" picking all this up so early. Wingswept's training program normally doesn't include such extensive training at only 12 weeks old, but this little guy seems very focused and intent and may be an exception to the rule. We are always very proud to see such natural ability in one of our own. Thanks for sharing the photos and information. ~Deane
Wingswept Shannon Dancer @ 7 months old. This is her first bird which she pointed and retrieved. She was not trained by the owner - she did it all on her own!
Wingswept Willow Dancer, a Shady Dancer/Harris Dancer pup trained by Wingswept. The picture is Willow at 5 months pointing her first quail. By the age of six months Willow has had over 400 quail shot over her in North Carolina, Georgia, and Mobile, Alabama. She is steady to flush and wing, holds her birds well, backs and retrieves to hand. She is owned by Gary Connaghty of Hiawasee, N.C

Deane: Rikki Lynn has such a wonderful disposition, that allows me to hunt with enthusiasm one day and then visit the young (my wife's school) and the old (my Mother's Assisted Living Care Facility) with such gentleness the next day. A person can't ask for more....Thank You.
I'm thrilled with the hunting! On this first trip out, Rikki Lynn exceeded expectations. She found, pointed, chased and RETRIEVED all 4 birds we used during the 1/2 hour FUN session. This is her first encounter with planted quail at 5 months and 1 day old.
Thank you for producing such a talented and very pretty bird-dog. Please consider this as authorization to use any of the photos I send you for posting on your web-site or in any of your advertising materials and feel free to use me as a reference as the occasion may arise. I'll consider it an honor to be able to say good things about your dogs, your kennel, and yourself. ~ Phil Heckler prhechler@yahoo.com

Reggie's Charging Dancer "Buddy", Sired by " Wingswept Dandy Dancer " was entered in the United Bird Hunters Association and The South Carolina Bird Hunters Association Field Trial for the first time in the 2010 Regional Competition and The UBH national Trial in Bebee Arkansas. Buddy finished first and won The South eastern Regional Finals in Cassat, South Carolina with a Blazing score of almost double his closest competitor. Finishing with 5 finds, five retrieves in 24 minutes in the 30 minute course and 122 points to win the competition. Showing stamina, style and poise, Buddy was right at the top of the 28 field Dog Field at The Nation UBH Field Trial at Bebee Ark, finishing on 7 points behind the winner to take Second Place in the 2010 Nationals.
Buddy was started in his training when he was 4 months old with Deane, at his facility in Jasper, Florida. Deane gave Buddy high marks on his progress report as a pup, and assured me of his potential to become an outstanding Bird Dog. Buddy has completed his training under Teddy Poston in Pamplico,SC who now handles him during his Field Trail entries.
I couldn't be more satisfied with my investment in Buddy as he truly is "The Ultimate Bird Dog in every respect "!!!
I also own Buddy's litter mate and brother, "Barrett's Shining Star Rex ". Rex, not as Bold as Buddy in several ways, but he is not far behind him and has taken his share of Trophies, as well. They started out the 2010/2011 season with Buddy finishing First and Rex in fourth in the first NBHA Trial held in Ninety Six, South Carolina on October 23, 2010. ~ Reggie
