About Us
Training
Clearly, our facilities are designed for the area in which we live, hunt, and train. However, whether in hot country or cold, certain things are constants. We have found a daily routine produces well-socialized, healthy, well-adjusted, happy dogs that have excellent disposition and are “people” dogs. Our kitchen contains a well-used whelping box. All of our pups are born in that kitchen and our brood dams look forward to that special time of being spoiled. After about 3 weeks in, and after the pups eyes and ears are open, then the family is transferred to the nursery kennels. At regular intervals worming, shots etc are given and the pups are handled and loved many times a day by the nursery worker.
If you look carefully at our facilities you will see that individual exercise or “socialization runs” surround the actual kennels. Each of our dogs and puppies go out into his/her own run twice a day at about the same time and with the same neighbors. We believe it is of primary importance that pups/ dogs grow up in a set regimen that teaches them to come and obey willingly, and to get along with other dogs (their neighbors) yet under conditions that are non-threatening and suppress their desire to fight for supremacy. You can be sure that a breeder who has spent the time and expense to “start ‘em right” will supply you with a loving well-adjusted friend.
